Spring | Kindergarten
The Kindergarten Program is an 8-week session designed to introduce kindergarteners to the sport of softball as well as provide an opportunity for them to play and interact in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
The Kindergarten Program is about progression and awareness without the player realizing how much they have learned.
Eligibility
Player is a resident of Milton or attends school in Milton.
Player is enrolled in K. Pre-K allowed if space permits.
When and Where
The program runs from mid-April through mid-June. No session on Memorial Day Weekend.
The sessions are held on Saturdays from 9am - 10:15am at the softball diamond at Cunningham Park.
Format
An instructional program where emphasis is placed on the basics: how to wear a glove, how to grip a ball, how to throw, how to catch a ball, how to hold a bat, how to swing, how to run the bases.
Jerseys
Jerseys are provided and handed out prior to the first game.
Parental Involvement
Parents are also encouraged to be involved if desired. Our goal is to have parents learn by observing and/or participating with the goal that parents may coach when their daughters move up to the Freshwomen Division the following year.
Events
Girls are also invited to march in the Opening Day Parade in April. And don't forget our annual Freshwomen Skills Challenge during our All Star Saturday Event in June. It's a great way for the girls to have fun, enjoy softball, and even throw a few water balloons at their coaches!
