Spring | Grades 7-8 Seniors

The Grades 7-8 Senior Division runs from early April through mid-June. Most regular softball rules apply. Umpires call balls and strikes. The league makes every attempt to keep roster size to no more than 13 players to allow plenty of playing time for all.

Eligibility

Player is a resident of Milton or attends school in Milton.

Player is enrolled in Grade 7 or 8.

Format

All players will be drafted onto teams in the Senior Division. The league wants to ensure that we have competitive balance across all teams. One of the ways we can accomplish this is by making sure each team as an equal amount of 7th and 8th graders.

Games

Typically 2 games per week. The schedule usually includes games on Saturdays at 5PM and Wednesdays at 6PM. Expectation is that players will make at least 75% of all games.

Practices

1x practice per week (day of the week at coaches' discretion). Coaches will also schedule practices before the season.

Playoff Format

For the last few years, we have done a double elimination playoff format.

Jerseys

Jerseys are provided and handed out prior to the first game.

Frequently Asked Questions

Finances are tight. Do you offer any financial assistance?

Milton Girls Softball believes that every girl who is interested in playing should be able to play. If you have financial circumstances that make the registration fees a challenge, please contact us for assistance.

What equipment will my child need before the first practice or game?

Players should arrive at their first practice with a glove, hat, and rubber molded cleats. Fielding masks are required as well. We strongly recommend that each girl have a sliding pad as well as sliding shorts.
