We are very excited to offer the Play Up Program for 6th Graders of Milton Girls Softball!
With the busy schedules our girls have during the season, there may be occasions where a Senior Division Team (Grades 7-8) is short a player or two. With this in mind, we are providing 6th graders with the opportunity to occasionally play on a Senior Division Team when there is a need by the coach for additional players.
Here is how it works:
A Senior Division Coach knows he/she is going to be short a player for an upcoming game.
The coach reaches out to the League's Player's Agent and requests a player (or players) for a game. Ideally, this request is made several days before the game but it could happen the day of a game as well.
The Player's Agent (representing the 6th grade girls who indicated they were interested in "Playing Up") would reach out to girls on the list (one at a time in the order that forms were received) and check the availability of each player for the game.
The Player's Agent would reach out by email/text/mobile based on the information provided. If the player is not available or does not respond in a timely manner, the Player's Agent moves to the next girl on the list until the need is fulfilled.
A player can only accept the request if she does not have a Junior game at that time. Missing a Junior practice is okay as long as it's approved by her coach.
The Senior Division coach may have a jersey for the player to wear for the game and the player should return it to the coach after the game. We suggest girls wear their Junior Team Jersey as a backup.
The 6th Grader is still part of her Junior Division Team and only is part of the Senior Division Team for that one game. There is no limit to the number of times a girl could be asked to "play up." It depends on need.
