Week of July 26th Milton U10 Hockomock beat Franklin 10-7 in the U10 Hockomock East semifinals Monday night to earn a spot in the 2010 U10 Hockomock East Championship Game. Down 6-2 in the third inning, the U10 Milton Wildcats erupted with several great at-bats to take the lead. Maggie W. shut down the Franklin offense to preserve the win. The Wildcats bring a 8-game unbeaten streak into the Championship game Wednesday night vs. Sharon.

Milton U10 Hockomock fell to Sharon 12-6 in the 2010 U10 Hockomock East Championship Game. The Wildcats played their hearts out to the very end but came up short against a very good Sharon team. This loss cannot overshadow what was has been a great summer of softball by a fantastic team. Led by Maggie W., Sarah G., Hannah O., Joanna N., Morgan C., Caitlin L., and Jenna C., all playing their last year of U10. Special thanks to a great group of parents for all their support.
U10 South Shore wrapped up sweep week with their third win of the week by beating Weymouth 13-8 Thursday night. Milton U10 finished the season as one of the hottest teams in the South Shore Conference and ended the season with a 4-game win streak. Finishing their season 5-5, the team really came together and everyone contributed whether in the field or at the plate. Coach White and Coach Tegan are very proud of their team!
Week of July 19th U12 Hockomock-Losi traveled to Attleboro and took care of business in securing the 6-2 win. Strong pitching, key defensive plays and timely hitting led Milton to the win and keep their playoff hopes alive.
On Wednesday, U12 Hockomock-Losi closed out the regular season with a home game under the lights at Gile Field. Trailing 7-4 in the bottom of the 5th, Milton rallied for 4 runs to take an 8-7 lead highlighted by Andrea J. coming around to score the go-ahead run on a bunt by Jessica O. In their final at bat, Mansfield led off with a base hit. With the runner advancing to second by way of a steal, Milton got the next two outs via a nice line drive catch by Meg K. and a strikeout. The final out was recorded on a dropped-third strike with Catcher Molly C. throwing down to first and Elizabeth M. making a great stretch to catch the ball and keep her foot on the bag to get the final out and preserve the win for Milton.
U10 Hockomock beat Mansfield 15-3. With the win, Milton has clinched a playoff spot!! Solid pitching by Sarah G. and timely hitting and solid defense by the entire team led the team to victory.
On Thursday night, U10Hockomock knocked of previousely unbeaten Sharon 4-3, Spotting Sharon a first innning 3-0 lead, Milton played their patented game of solid pitching, great defense and timely hitting to take the lead in the bottom of the 5th and sealed the deal in the top of the 6th. The bottom of the order came through in the 5th wearing down great Sharon pitching with great at-bats. The team is riding a 7 game unbeaten streak into the playoffs.
U10 South Shore had a tough loss to Braintree National on Tuesday night, but the team did have three home runs: Kate F., Megan B., and Daley T. in the losing effort.
Week of July 12th U12 Hockomock-Losi hosted Stoughton at Cunningham Park on Monday evening. Milton came ready to play with strong pitching and some solid defense including a caught stealing at third to end the top of the first. Milton responded in the bottom of the 1st by scoring 5 runs to take a 5-0 lead. Milton hung on the rest of the way highlighted by a great catch of a deep fly ball to left field by Meredith K. essentially killing the Stoughton rally and saving the game for Milton. Milton over Stoughton, 7-5.
After a rainout forced a rare Thursday night game at Kelly, Hockomock-Losi hosted Walpole in an exciting game. The game was highlighted by Milton's resiliency - coming back from 2-run deficits three different times. There were some solid plays in the field including Meredith K. showing some great range in centerfield with two great catches; Jacki L. showing some leather at third, and Shannon F. picking off a running on third with a heads-up play. Milton rallied in the last inning and tied the game 6-6.
On Tuesday night, U10Hockomock played another solid all-around game to tie a good Franklin team, 10-10. Tough at-bats by Milton wore down Franklin pitching and great Milton pitching held Franklin scoreless in the final inning.
U10 Hockomock remains unbeaten in July. On Thursday, U10 Hockomock traveled to Dedham and came away with a 7-6 win. Trailing 4-1 after the first inning, great pitching by Sarah G. kept Milton in it until they took over the lead in the top of the 4th 7-6. Then Maggie W. shut down Dedham for the final 2 innings with the U10 Hockomock coach stating: "our best game of the year."
U10 South Shore beat Rockland 16-15 in a wild game on Thursday night. Shorthanded, Milton played tough and hung on for the win.
Week of July 5th U14 Hockomock hosted N. Attleboro Tuesday night at Cunningham Park in 90+ degree heat. But the heat didn't stop Milton as the pitching of Christine C. and Krissy M. and a homerun by Emily B. lead Milton to a 13-10 win. On Thursday, U14 Hockomock traveled to Walpole and fell by a score of 12-2.
On Wednesday night, U12 Hockomock - West demonstrated how good pitching, solid defense and timely hitting can lead to a win with a 7-3 victory over Sharon. Meanwhile, U12 Hockomock - East traveled to North Attleboro (as a precursor to their tourney this weekend) and came out on top 18-11. U12 South Shore played a tight game against Hull on Wednesday night but came out on the wrong side of a 10-9 score.
U10 Hockomock traveled down to North Easton and beat Easton by a score of 15-6. After a 4-4 first inning the Wildcats buckled down and played their best game of the season. Timely hitting and solid defense led the way. On Thursday, U10 Hockomock hosted North Attleboro at Gile and earned their second victory of the week winning 16-14.
U10 South Shore hosted Hanover Tuesday night at Gile Field. The game provided a dramatic finish as Milton entered the last inning down by a run. Milton won 11-10 in walk-off fashion with a bases-loaded walk on a 3-2 pitch. On Thursday, U10 South Shore traveled to Abington and fell to a tough Abington team, 12-2.
Week of June 28th U14 Hockomock hosted Easton on Tuesday night and came out on top by a score of 16-9. Solid pitching, timely hits and good defense led Milton to the victory. On Thursday, Milton U14 traveled to Norton in a battle of two 2-1 teams. The game was tight until Milton jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Norton responded with 7 unanswered runs and held on for the 7-4 win.
U12 Hockomock-Losi traveled to Norwood on Monday evening and came up short in an 11-2 loss. On Wednesday, U12 Hockomock-Losi traveled to Franklin and despite their greatest offensive showing of the season, they fell to Franklin by a score of 19-10.
U12 Hockomock- Rulon are quickly becoming Milton's cardiac kids. On Monday, they edged Norfolk 17-16 and on Tuesday night, they won in dramatic fashion. Down 9-2 in the top of the third, Milton scored 5 runs to make it 9-7. Norwood extended their lead with 5 more runs in the 4th to make it 14-7 but Milton rallied in the bottom of the 4th to make it 14-12. In the last inning, Milton held Norwood scoreless and won the game with a 3-run walk-off homerun by Monica W. WOW!!!
U12 South Shore feel to Randolph 19-4 on Monday night. On Wednesday, U12 South Shore showed some resilency and beat Scituate on a walk-off hit to win 15-14.
U10 Hockomock traveled to Sharon Tuesday night. The game was a pitcher's duel with Milton coming upon the wrong end of a 3-2 score. On Thursday, U10 Hockomock found themselves trailing 12-10 in the last inning, but rallied for 2 runs to tied the game at 12.
In their season opener, U10 South Shore lost a tight game against Marshfield 5-1. On Thursday, Norwell jumped out to an early lead and despite a late inning rally by Milton, held on to beat Milton by a 10-4 score.
